Not all good & not all bad

Anything you can’t say thank you for will run your life and act as baggage until you do.

One Saturday, we woke up to no hot water and no heating. The new boiler had been in for less than three months, and it had gone wrong!

I’m not going to lie - I was really peeved this had happened. Mainly because it was the weekend and only 13.6 degrees in our house (it was early December at the time).

The quickest we could get it sorted was 6-8pm the following evening. Now, we could have let out anger over the situation and let it ruin our weekend. But we didn’t.

On Saturday went shopping for a Christmas tree in the morning and new decorations in the evening. We had our dinner in the lounge huddled around the log fire.

The following day was spent decorating the tree and the house. In fact, we spent the whole weekend together, instead of the kids sitting in their rooms on iPads.

That wouldn’t have happened if the heating had been on.

Remember, things can’t be all bad or all good. What if things or events are just that. Things or events.

We were really thankful that we had our weekend together. It gave us all a chance to reconnect and remember the times before we gave the kids iPads! We were actually thankful for the event and the time it gave us.
